But don't just take my word for it! I'll tell you why in a moment.

05 Mar 2008: Recent events have me just beaming. Retaliatory feedback — the spark that started voxluna.org and fastmemorymanSUCKS.com in the first place — may finally be addressed. An article in Forbes entitled EBay Feedback: Fatally Flawed?, and another on arstechnica.com, lay out what I've been saying for years: the system is unfair, and sellers (especially power-) know full well that buyers are afraid to leave negatives. At last, eBay might do something about it, but only because it fosters an atmosphere that is not conducive to buyer confidence (read: lower sales and the worst stock values for eBay since September 2006). Bravo!

First, let's have a look at this email from eBay on 26 October 2006. They demonstrate how disloyal they are to the bread and butter users who buy all this garbage online: they've taken a power seller at his word, claiming my site was publishing his contact information. In fact, this data is freely available elsewhere online (and will continue to be, whether eBay likes it or not). Why wouldn't a seller want his contact information to be publicly available?

I'm not sure whether eBay means for me to just take down his real name, email addresses, etc — or to turn off this URL entirely. We certainly wouldn't want to think they're suppressing facts concerning the PayPal dispute that he lost with me... that would be a chilling effect, indeed! So before I show what an arrogant, condescending fraud this seller is, let's just bask in this delightfully friendly takedown letter. Notice how they "respectively request" that I not do this again... because RESPECTFULLY isn't a word eBay knows:
